Dragon’s Den - Wednesdays 8pm on BBC2
It’s back and we can’t get enough of it! Whoever came up with the idea for this show is an absolute genius. Not like the people who have been churning out all the other rubbish you find on TV these days.
Seriously, if you’re a budding entrepreneur then we reckon watching Dragon’s Den is the same for you as going to the Sunday service is for a devout Christian. Alright there are some real eccentric types pitching ideas which are about as much use as a chocolate teapot, but the advice the Dragons give is great. And there’s usually a few bright sparks who are great examples of up and coming entrepreneurs. We get enthusiastic for them just because they’re so passionate.
So we thought it might be a bit of fun to get some comments on the latest series up on the site. Give you a chance to say what you thought the best idea was, if the Dragons were out of line with anyone (too harsh or blinkered maybe) or what ideas actually made you wonder about the sanity of the people pushing them.
And if it’s alright with you we’ll kick things off…

I was really impressed by the Reggae Reggae sauce guy. You know, Mr ‘So nice, they named it twice!’ His pitch was original, which is always a good thing. He was confident and when it came down to it his product seemed pretty good. The Dragons all tried it and that seemed to be what clinched the deal for him. Plus anyone who can make such a monumental mistake on the potential order (2,500 liters as opposed to 2,500,000 – just a slight difference!) and still get backing is a legend. Wonder if we’ll be seeing the Reggae Reggae song in the charts soon…
