Yet Another Money Making Alternative to Adsense!

We love adsense. It’s easy, simple, fun to use…

Quite frankly it’s a gem of an e business opportunity and it’s making a lot of web publishers a lot of money.

But before we start patting ourselves on the backs too much it’s worth looking into this little beauty. It’s called the…

Yahoo Publisher Network and you can check it out here:

Yahoo Publisher Network

So what is it? Well as you might guess it’s Yahoo’s answer to Google Adsense. It works on exactly the same principle as Adsense. i.e. You whack a bit of code onto your website or blog and boom a dazzling set of linky ads appear.

So what are the advantages?

Well one big advantage is that they’re relatively new (still in beta testing in fact). This means that compared to Google Adsense, the ads (in look and style at least) look fairly fresh. The difference isn’t astounding, but it might mean that some folk click through not yet jaded by seeing it over and over again.

There are a number of cons however…

For one thing, it’s still in Beta testing. So as a short term stumbling block your site has to be in English. It also helps if you’re based in the states since (at the time of going to press) all the adverts are directed at the US market.

This is fine and dandy for the time being, but it’d be great to see this fantastic new business opportunity fully find its way over to the UK.

Another thing, and it’s a fairly small thing, is that when you apply you don’t get a decision instantly. Google adsense can be setup pretty much on the spot. At the moment Yahoo Publisher Network requires a more stringent reviewing process. Grrr…

Anyway, have a wee look and see for yourself. The Guardian Website is a good example of how they can be implented. You can see them near the bottom of the page.

Arghh it’s late. I’m off to bed to dream up the next big thing in business opportunities!
