Another Way to Make Money Blogging

We’ve been out on the net again… plowing our way through the cyber-jungle to find some money making opportunities… and we found this diamond in the rough. It’s similar to the www.helium.com idea we mentioned a little while back.

The site we came across is www.shvoong.com (Yiddish for momentum) and like Helium it depends on contributors for its content – people who can easily knock out short copy. Shvoong.com seems a bit more focused though and most of the stuff is reviews on books and websites.

The site makes its money from advertisers. And the contributors i.e. you, make money from royalties which get paid to the most popular reviews or ‘abstracts’ in ’shvoong’ speak. And as its a royalties system that means you can get paid again and again for the same ‘abstract’, which might only take you half an hour or so to put together.

Now without wanting to put anyone down the competition on the contributors’ front doesn’t look too tough at the moment. So now seems like a good time to get in and make some money from the site. Plus it looks like it’s pretty new on the content driven scene which means now’s the time to make your mark (and more importantly some money.)

www.shvoong.com also pays people to translate ’abstracts’ written by other people. So if you’ve got some language skills you could even go double-bubble here: write the piece in English, then get paid to translate it into French, Italian… you get the idea… As always if you have a crack be sure and let us know how you get on.
