Are you sitting comfortably? Good, then we’ll begin… because we’ve got a little bit of (eek) homework for you to do. Don’t panic, unlike the stuff we had to do at school this is fun so you don’t have to pretend your dog stole it and passed it off as his own work. In fact you don’t even have to hand it into us if you don’t want to. And there’s no detention or bad marks involved either.
Plus doing this could mean you find the way you’re going to make money… big money… maybe even quick, easy, big money (our favourite kind of cash!) And with a bit of luck you could also end up with a monopoly!
Anyway that’s enough from us. Let’s cut to the chase. Here’s your mission should you choose to accept it: Look around where you live… the local businesses, services and shops… the type of people who live where you do… the places people can go and what they can do… more importantly what they can’t do… what your stomping ground is missing…
Take a bit of time and think what you could do with your local area if you had free reign. Nothing, absolutely nothing, was an obstacle to you setting up a business in the vicinity. What would you do? What opportunities are there? How can the space be used or maximised?
One idea is advertising. Are there houses alongside main roads say, whose front lawns could accommodate discrete billboards for local businesses?
Anyway keep your eyes and ears open and see what your imagination comes up with.
