Not long until the latest Labour budget’s uncovered. In fact, we’re counting the days and based on early expectations we are not happy.
Increasing tax on cigarettes and alcohol is par for the course, but there’s rumours the rise is going to be even higher than usual. The story is to stop teens binge drinking. The reality is probably nowhere near that and more likely just an excuse to screw the majority for more tax.
Talking of which if you’re earning between £35,000 and £40,000 a year then take a good long look at your pay-slip post-budget. If you thought you were getting clobbered for National Insurance before, just wait and see what you’ll be paying then.
So another budget… another round of heavy handed taxes. Guess after years and years of these jokers in power we shouldn’t be surprised.
Wonder what Darling pays in taxes… Oh well, maybe he’ll get fired over the whole Northern Rock fiasco.
